Marco's mother Anita wasn't expecting to have a child, but when she found out that she was pregnant she and Jeremy, Marco's father, decided to keep the child, and were pleased with their son. Well, Jeremy was. Anita took care of him as much as she knew how. However, even when Marco was young things just seemed off about him. In elementary school, Marco always colored in the lines. For a while, they thought it was just an artistic talent. However, the issues with staying in the lines would sometimes translate into filling in the bubbles on scantron tests, which led to Marco filling in and erasing, and most of the time leaving tests incomplete. It wasn't that he didn't know it, he justy couldn't get it perfect...
Before Marco's parents could figure out what to do about this, Jeremy passed away from medical complications. Anita already wasn't sure what to do with Marco when they thought he was normal, so now on her own she continued to care for him the way she already had, and left his issues alone, to get better or worse on their own.
As time went on, things just piled on, and Anita continued to ignore it as Marco tried to be normal. To him, it was apparent he couldn't get better in the environment he was in, so he moved out at age 18.
Things changed recently. After taking three hours to leave the mall because he couldn't get back to his car in fewer steps than it took for him to get into the mall, Marco pleaded for help from his mother. His mother still didn't know what to do, so she passed the problem on to her new husband, who passed the problem on to Cherry Hollow...
